MVV / Long Stay National
Visa / Temporary Residence Permit

In case you intend to stay for a continuous period of longer than 3 months in The Netherlands, you will need a temporary residence permit (MVV). The Embassy of The Netherlands in New Delhi has to obtain approval for the issuance of a temporary residence permit from the immigration authorities in The Netherlands. It is important that you apply for the temporary residence permit at least 3 (three) months prior to your intended stay in The Netherlands. The following documents must be submitted.
Documents common to all Visa Categories:
- Passport, which should be valid for at least twelve months. Applicants must be resident in India.
- 1 application form and 2 photographs (50 X 50 mm) with white back ground.
- References in The Netherlands (full name, address and telephone number).
- Copy of health insurance valid for 3 (three) months from the 1st date of intended stay (recommended but not mandatory).
- In case of minors, a consent letter of both the parents is required along with the passport copies of both parents.
For Students:
- Copy of letter from your prospective college or university or employer in The Netherlands confirming the purpose of your stay in The Netherlands.
To Join Parents/For Adoption:
- Copy of apostilled birth certificate (required for registration in The Netherlands).
To Join Spouse:
- If married and the purpose of residence is to join spouse, please provide a copy of apostilled marriage certificate and a copy of your spouse’s passport.
Applications must be lodged in person at the Embassy of The Netherlands in New Delhi holiday list.
Please note that once your application has been lodged, you cannot apply for any short stay Schengen visa nor travel to any of the Schengen countries until a decision has been taken on your MVV / residence request.
