Application Procedure
Appointment for the submission of visa applications can be taken online at www.vfs-nl-in.com or by telephoning the VFS Visa Application Centre for The Netherlands 0120-6641050. The Internet facility is available 24x7 while the phone-in facility is available 0800-1200 and 1300-1600 hours Monday-Friday except holidays as mentioned under the link holidays.
All short stay Schengen visa applications for The Netherlands are to be submitted through the VFS Visa Application Centre for The Netherlands in New Delhi at:
No. 15–26 Block E, 2nd Floor, International Trade Tower, Nehru Place, New Delhi – 110019.
Holders of diplomatic / official passports, applicants for short stay visa to The Netherlands Antilles or Aruba and applicants for long stay visa (MVV’s) to The Netherlands should submit their applications directly to the visa office of the Embassy of The Netherlands, 6/50F Shanti Path, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi 110 021 with prior appointment through the VFS Netherlands helpline tel. no. 0120-6641050 between 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., from Monday-Friday, except on holidays mentioned under the link holidays.
Applicants for short stay visa who intend to submit their application directly to the Embassy of The Kingdom of The Netherlands should call the VFS Netherlands helpline, on tel. no. 0120-6641050 in order to make an appointment. The applicant is requested to submit the application at the allotted time at the visa office of the Embassy of The Netherlands.

If required by the Embassy of The Netherlands, an applicant may be requested to have a personal interview at the Embassy’s visa offices, 6/50F Shanti Path, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi 110 021. This may be at random and is irrespective of whether one is a first time or frequent traveller. Invitations for personal interviews with the Embassy of The Netherlands must be attended within 5 (five) working days from the date the application was submitted at the VFS Visa Application Centre for The Netherlands. If you do not attend the personal interview, within 5 (five) working days from the date the application was submitted, your application will be considered closed, so you will need to apply afresh.
There is a service charge of Rs. 520/- (inclusive of service tax) applicable per application over and above the visa fees payable in cash only. For an optional courier return of your processed application, please request for the same at the time of submitting your application for a nominal fee. All applicable fees are non-refundable and payable in cash only at the time of submission of the application at the VFS Visa Application Centre for The Netherlands.
Processed or updated application status for visa application submitted in the New Delhi VFS Visa Application Centre for The Netherlands can be checked from the third working day onwards only, between 1300-1600 hours.
One can also track the status of a visa application online by logging on to www.vfs-nl-in.com.
Applicants are requested to apply at least 3 weeks prior to their date of travel to accommodate all processing formalities.
The applicant must have the visa of onward destination before applying for Schengen visa.
