MVV
In case you intend to stay for a continuous period of longer than 3 months in the Netherlands, you will need a temporary residence permit (MVV). The Consulate General of The Netherlands in Mumbai has to obtain approval for the issuance of a temporary residence permit from the immigration authorities in The Netherlands. It is important that you apply for the temporary residence permit at least three months prior to your intended stay in the Netherlands. The following documents must be submitted.

Documents common to all Visa Categories:
  • Passport, which should be valid for at least twelve months. Applicants must be resident in India
  • 1 application forms and 2 photographs.
  • References in the Netherlands (full name, address and telephone number).
  • Health Insurance valid for 03 months from the 01st date of intended stay. (recommended but not mandatory)
For Students:

  • A letter from your prospective college/university/employer in the Netherlands confirming the purpose of your stay in the Netherlands.
To Join Parents/For Adoption:
  • Legalised birth certificate (required for registration in the Netherlands).
To Join Spouse:
  • If married and the purpose of residence is to join spouse, please provide the original, legalised marriage certificate and copy of your spouse’s passport (certified by the Indian Embassy in the Hague, if possible).
To Work/Knowledge Migrants:
  • Photocopy of the Bio Data page of the Passport.
Applications must be lodged in person at the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Mumbai; appointment for the same can be taken via the Netherlands Visa Call Centre on 022-66104112 and 022-66104480 between 0930-1300hours and 1400-1730hours Monday to Friday.

Please note that once your application is lodged, you cannot apply for any Schengen visa nor travel to any of the Schengen countries until a decision has been taken on your MVV/residence request.
