Schengen visa has to be obtained from the Consulate of the country where the
MAIN PURPOSE OF TRAVEL lies. Therefore, please check your travel plans before
making your application to the Netherlands Consulate. In case of travel to
multiple Schengen countries, please make your application to the Consulate
where you will be staying for the maximum number of days.

The Consulate General of the Kingdom of The Netherlands in Mumbai considers one a frequent traveller when one has during the past 5 (five) years received and used in a correct way 2 (two) visas of which at least 1 (one) was issued by a Schengen country, UK, USA, Canada, Australia and / or New Zealand.
If required by the Consulate General, an applicant may be requested to have a personal interview at the Consulate’s visa Office (Forbes Building, 1st floor, Charanjit Rai Marg). This may be at random and is irrespective of whether one is a first time or frequent traveller.
Invitation for personal interviews with The Consulate General of the Kingdom of The Netherlands must be attended within 5 (five) working days from the date the application was submitted at the VFS Visa Application Centre for The Netherlands. If you do not attend the personal interview within 5 (five) working days from the date the application was submitted, your application will be considered closed, so you will need to apply afresh
