In our constant endeavor to provide utmost satisfaction to our customers and users, we have commenced an all day counter delivery process at our Joint Schengen Visa Application Centre Mumbai.

The operational timings would be from 0900 hours to 1700 hours on all working days except for Saturday and Sunday and respective mission holidays.

12 MAY 2011

Getting visa to the Schengen countries via the Netherlands Embassy in New Delhi and Consulate General in Mumbai may take one month.

Due to a sudden surge in applicants seeking visitor visas to the Schengen countries through the VFS-offices and via the Netherlands Embassy and the Consulate-General in Mumbai, it is recommended that the customers submit their visa applications at least one month in advance.

08 APRIL 2010

Each applicant will have to fill up Travel History form where they have to mention the details of the visas issued in the last 5 years (Schengen Countries as well as for other Countries e.g. US, UK, Canada, Australia & new Zealand).You can download the form from this link http://www.vfs-nl-in.com/download.aspx

Please note in case the above details are in your old passports and if you are mentioning these details in the travel history you will also have to provide the visa copies of the same along with the bio data page of the old passports.

05 APRIL 2010

  1. In connection with the introduction of the Visa Codex a new Schengen Visa application form will replace previous Schengen Visa application form. Please download the new form from the given link http://www.vfs-nl-in.com/download.aspx

  2. Photographs need to be as per revised photo specification. Kindly visit our Photograph Specification link http://www.vfs-nl-in.com/photograph.aspx

  3. Application can be submitted only three (3) months prior to departure.
     
  4. Travel Document (Passport) must not be older than 10 Years; also it must be at least valid for 3 months after the intended stay.
     
  5. Passport must have at least 2 blank pages for visa stamping purpose
     
  6. Passport should be valid for at least three (3) months longer than the intended stay.
     
  7. An application can be submitted to the NL-counter, if the main destination in terms of length or purpose of stay is NL. If main destination can not be determined it is the country of first entry.
     
  8. Applicants who have valid US/Canada/Japan/EER are exempted from the Airport Transit Visa.

29 JUNE 2009

"No information on any submitted document may be highlighted /underlined with a marker/highlighter. As of June 29th applications that have any highlighted information in any of the submitted documents will not be accepted by the Netherlands Consulate."

15 APRIL 2009

Indian citizens traveling to LATVIA (as main destination within Schengen) can submit their application at the Netherlands Visa Application Centre in Mumbai and Bangalore. Until further notice requirements that apply for applications to travel to the Netherlands will also apply for Latvian visa applications."

MAY 2007

Minor Applicants (applicants who are below the age of 18 years) will need to have their visa application form signed by BOTH PARENTS. The parents’ signatures will be in addition to the minor applicant’s signature, which cannot be accepted on its own.

In the absence of one parent, the second parent may sign the form along with the minor applicant. The parent, who is unable to sign the visa application form, must provide a letter of consent for the child to apply for the visa and travel. A passport copy of this parent also needs to be submitted to authenticate the signature in the consent letter.

If the minor applicant is a part of a single parent family, please provide a copy of the Death Certificate or Custody proof, as applicable, to support the same.

The Consulate General of the Kingdom of The Netherlands strongly recommends that these instructions be complied with. Failure to provide the requested information may lead to the application being declined at the acceptance stage itself.

MARCH 2007

To accommodate the increasing application volume at The Consulate General of The Kingdom of The Netherlands, Mumbai, Interview Appointments arranged with The Consulate, cannot be rescheduled.

Applicants may be asked to apply afresh if they are unavailable for their scheduled Interview.
